2006

2006 – 2009: Implemented a project entitled Promoting HIV/AIDS Awareness through Self Help Groups in North 24 PGs, Nadia, Murshidabad and Malda districts of West Bengal supported by West Bengal State AIDS Prevention & Control Society.

2006 – 2009: Implemented Polio Eradication Program in 4 Blocks of Murshidabad covering 248700 children and 1 Block of Nadia covering 43852 children supported by UNICEF.


2007

Women Development Undertaking, Govt. of West Bengal in December, 2007 had engaged SPADE to provide Capacity Building support so that SHG members under Swyamsiddha Project of Dakshin Dinajpur district could enhance their Income Generating Capacity and thereby, uplift their socioeconomic status.

SPADE provided support up to April, 2009 and covered 2512 members from 208 SHGs under 14 GPs of 7 Blocks. 98 different activities were identified and Subsidiary Occupations grew @ 5.21%. Average rate of Growth on Monthly income, as reported by the participants was 31.27%.

2008

2008 – 2011: Conducted Flood Early Warning Advocacy & AILA Early Warning Study at Mousuni Island of Sundarban area of West Bengal supported by OXFAM (I) Trust.

Implemented a program entitled Capacity Building and strengthening of the Self Help Promoting Institutions in 8 GPs in 8 Blocks & all GPs in Kandi Block of Murshidabad District under West Bengal Civil Society Support Program supported by PRIA – DFID.

2009

2009 – 2011: Implemented a project entitled Promoting and strengthening Self Help Groups for Developing a Disaster Resilient Civil Society at Joypur GP of Khargram Block under SAARC Model Village Initiative supported by the District Administration, Murshidabad and about 2000 households have been benefited.

Installed Hand Pumps for supply of Safe Drinking Water under MP LAD Program.

2009 – 2010: Developed Grassroots level Management Course supported by SD Tata Trust.

2009 – 2010: Conducted Skill training of 50 women artisans on Zari and Patch work under the SWABALAMBAN Project of State Social Welfare Board, Govt. of West Bengal at Nabadwip Block of Nadia district.

Strengthened Sub Clusters & Clusters along with SHGs through Capacity Building & Facilitation support in 13 Clusters in 4 GPs of North 24 Parganas district covering 1078 SHGs comprising about 12,936 members supported by DRD Cell, North 24 Parganas.

In August, 2009 SPADE undertook a project on Promotion of Kitchen Garden at every Household of Amlasol Village for assuring Food Security of the Savar (a primitive) and Munda Communities under Binpur – II Block, West Medinipur..

Promoting and Strengthening Self Help Groups for Developing a Disaster Resilient Civil Society under SAARC Model Village Initiative had been implemented by SPADE at 15 villages under Joypur Gram Panchayat of Khargram Block of Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The objectives were : All women shall form SHGs for their social and economic empowerment

Conducting a 3 Months Tailoring Training for SHG members at Balarampur Block of Purulia district supported by Swarojgari Corporation under SHG SE Ministry.

Workshop on Planning Livelihood Interventions for Preparing Village Adoption Plan through PRA for the NABARD Officials & Nodal NGO Workers in 2007.

Provided Capacity Building support to PUPA (an NGO).

Disaster Management Plan, Govt. of West Bengal for the year 2008-09 and its upgradation for the year 2009-10.


2010

2010 – 1013: Implemented CARITAS supported Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction Program (Flood centric) at Khargram Block of Murshidabad districts and Nabadwip Block of Nadia district – altogether 52 Gram Sansads under 6 Gram Panchayats. About 17529 Households covering more than 22400 individuals have been benefited.

2010 – 2012: Iimplemented Routine Immunization and Polio Eradication program & Social Mobilization Campaign on Avian Influenza covering about 3034 households under 2 Blocks of Kandi Subdivision in Murshidabad district supported by UNICEF and District Administration.

2010 – 2011: Conducted an AILA Early Warning Study & DRR in Eastern States of India at Mousuni Island of Sundarban area of West Bengal covering 4491 households in 7 Mouzas supported by OXFAM (I) Trust.

Implemented a project entitled Ensuring Sustainable Safe Drinking Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Needs of Community Flock supported by Water For People – India at Kandi Block of Murshidabad district. Under this project about 600 household toilets had been constructed and 40 tube wells upgraded.

From August 2010 to April 2011, SPADE has implemented the Pilot Project on Increasing Loan Absorption Capacity of the Self Help Group members through Financial Literacy in 8 GPs of Kushmandi and Gangarampur Block of South Dinajpur district of West Bengal in association with SHG Promotional Forum and sponsored by Panchayat & Rural Development Department, GoWB. 1848 rural women from 164 SHGs have participated in the project. So far, 79.5% of the SHGs have increased their monthly savings on an average by 40%. 22 SHGs have enhanced their Cash Credit Limit and 127 SHGs have qualified in the 2nd Grading.

Developed and published 4 Books relating to Sector Own Control program for the SHGs supported by APMAS – DGRV.

Organized a Workshop on Revival of Pot in Murshidabad & Nadia involving the Patua community supported by the Ministry of Culture – Government of India.

2012

2012 – Till date: Implementing a project entitled Promotion of Women SHGs in Left Wing Extremism dominated district Purulia with financial support from NABARD. Had already formed and Bank Linked about 1850 WSHGs and credit linked about 1212 WSHGs.

2012 – 2013: Implemented an ICF- KUSP of State Urban Development Department supported project entitled Livelihood Promotion through Strengthening Thrift and Credit Groups, Household-level Income Enhancement Plan (HLIEP) Preparation for the members and Facilitation support in Implementation of the HLIEPs at Kaliyagunj Municipality and the members of 100 TCGs & UWSPs have been benefited.

2012 to 2014: Conducted 4 Skill Development Trainings, each one of which was of one month’s duration for the Bamboo Fiber Artisans supported by District Industrial Center, Murshidabad.


2013

Capacitated 80 participants from members-organizations of Inter Agency Group in Search and Rescue Operations as a part of Disaster Preparedness supported by UNICEF.


2014

2014 – Till date: Provided 78 Days Skill Training on Tailoring to 60 participants from Purba Medinipur and Purulia districts.

Conducted One Day Interactive Seminars on Sales and Marketing in Howrah, Hooghly, Nadia, Purba Medinipur, Burdwan, Murshidabad, Malda, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Jalpaiguri, Coochbihar, Alipurduar and Darjiling districts and have so far covered 1201 participants.

Provided Goat Rearing Training – each one of 20 days duration at Purulia, Bankura, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts supported by West Bengal Swarojgar Corporation Ltd., Govt. of West Bengal Undertaking and had already covered 1470 participants.


2015

Became a partner of State Mission Management Unit of Anandadhara (State Rural Livelihood Mission) and is implementing the model block program in 6 Blocks in Nadia, Murshidabad and Dakshin Dinajpur districts.

Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT) engaged SPADE for implementing an Integrated Development project in April, 2015 at Khanpur village under Goberia GP and Chapi and Basulia Wards under Sutahata Block of Haldia Municipality under East Medinipur district. The objective of this project is to enhance livelihood status of the households with improved access to financial services and also health (anaemia). The sub-objectives are to promote and strengthen Women SHGs and SHG-based institutions, to facilitate livelihood activities for increasing household income of the SHG members’ families, to improve the quality of life of the community and to promote financial inclusion.


2016

Ambedkar Hastashilpa Vikas Yojana sanctioned for integrated development of the Artisans of Bamboo Craft at Balarampur Block of Purulia district by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textile, Government of India.

DigiEd Project is a forthcoming joint initiative of SPADE & PERVCOM under the guidance of the Social Informatics Group, IIM Calcutta. The objectives of the project is to spread quality education for the underprivileged school children through supplementing the existing delivery system by online classes for various levels by experienced senior citizens including retired teachers, academicians, etc. located in cities. Children in remote rural areas shall be able to learn different formal and non-formal subjects remotely using internet-enabled online education platform.


2018

SPADE, in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur made a success to provide clean and sustainable Solar light to the poor rural households in villages of Sindri GP under Barrabazar Block, Purulia who were lacking the traditional electricity from grid through installation of Micro Solar Domes (MSD). Beneficiaries were made aware of general maintenance (cleaning of upper/lower domes and PV panels) and life / durability of the components of MSD. Beneficiaries were satisfied with the MSD and found MSD very much useful during cooking, studying (women & children) and other day to day household activities. They get light 4 to 6 hours during night depending on sun and the area (shade) where the house is located.


2019

SPADE under its Mission Bartika commences to establish chain of Bartika Learning Centres for the first-generation learners belonging to under-privileged community, in remote rural areas of West Bengal with the objective of improving their lives and livelihoods by using latest technological tool and equipment.


2020

SPADE, as a Supporting Organisation starts implementation of the WBADMI Project. Major tasks of SPADE involve strengthening Community- based Organizations in few districts for up-gradation of cultivable land area with monitoring of Irrigation Schemes, controlling the supply of water among members, promoting crop planning, water budgeting, water scheduling, collecting, costing, etc. besides identification of new schemes through watershed approach.


2022

To improve the status of the farmers and to enhance agricultural productivity, the Govt. of India had decided to form farmers’ collectives like FPOs or FPCs which shall be farmer community-owned and managed institutions. SPADE signed Memorandum of Agreement for Formation and Strengthening of Farmer Producers Organizations (FPOs) in West Bengal and Tripura, as CBBO with National Agriculture Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) and NABARD.
